Detect and Prevent Fraudulent Activity with Adenty
One of the core vulnerabilities of subscription-based businesses is when the purchased subscription gets shared with multiple users and is used collectively instead of being purchased by each of them individually. Another vulnerability is users applying VPN to avoid access limits.
Adenty detects such cases to help businesses prevent the indirect access to subscription and purchase bypass.
What and How Adenty Protects
Adenty detects when multiple users are accessing the same account in the following scenarios:
- Logins into the same account happen with different device types in N period of time
- Amount of devices linked to the same account in N period of time
- Logins into the same account happen from different geographical locations in N period of time
If the plugin identifies at least one of these activities, it executes a deeper fraud analysis and put Fraud flag and Fraud reason to appropriate visitors.
VPN Identification
Adenty compares the time zone of the visitor’s IP with the time zone of one’s browser or OS. If these indicators don’t match, the plugin marks the visitor as using VPN. The plugin also prevents visitor duplication, and when this user re-visits the web resource (no matter using VPN or not), one will be recognized, not duplicated. As a result, you always see true number of users and get accurate insights on visitor behaivior.
